The Dreamer Public Art

Public Art

Open Air, Out-of-This-World Creativity.

Thanks to the City’s innovative Art in Public Places program, residents and visitors alike find Palm Desert to be a beautiful, art-filled environment in which to live. It’s easy to indulge your artistic side in Palm Desert – just look around at the more than 150 artworks in the City’s collection. Not only will you find stunning, larger-than-life sculptures, but you’ll also discover countless objets d’art throughout the City’s landscape – like bus shelters designed with desert-modern sensibility or serene sculptures with trickling water.

Experiencing public art in Palm Desert can be done in different ways. At the beginning of each year, the City of Palm Desert partners with University California Riverside Palm Desert Center and invites community members to participate in a Public Art Documentary Film Series. Additionally, the Student Art and Essay Contest runs annually and highlights our local students.

The Palm Desert Community Gallery is closed for the time being due to lobby renovations. Check back for any updates regarding our program and to tour the city’s collection of art, download the Public Art map and you’ll be ready to set forth on your art quest.
